Course context for academic year 2021-22

La Geografía de las migraciones es una asignatura optativa que se imparte en cuarto curso del grado en Geografía y Ordenación del Territorio. Analiza las migraciones y los desplazamientos de población y sus relaciones con el territorio y la sociedad en el actual contexto de cambios socio-territoriales y de creciente movilidad de las personas.
A nivel territorial, social e identitario, las migraciones con todas sus causas e implicaciones se están transformando desde finales del siglo XX en una cuestión absolutamente central para la comprensión del mundo actual y de nuestro entorno más inmediato. Es por ello por lo que a una escala global se trata de una asignatura fundamental para entender la situación y las tendencias mundiales, mientras que a una escala más local es importante para el ejercicio profesional de los futuros egresados, en especial para el desempeño de los perfiles profesionales relacionados con la planificación y gestión territorial, el desarrollo sostenible local y el análisis territorial de la población.
La asignatura se enmarca en el módulo de Geografía Humana, y junto con las asignaturas “Geografía política y social” y “Geografía de la Población” conforma la materia “Geografía de la población y social”. Además de ello tiene relaciones e implicaciones evidentes con las asignaturas de los módulos de “Geografía Económica” y “Ordenación del Territorio” impartidas en este grado con anterioridad.

  • CE2 : Capacity to understand and handle the concepts, methodology and techniques of Geography and Spatial Planning correctly.
  • CE3 : Capacity to understand and use the concepts of other disciplines correctly, especially history, law and town planning.
  • CE4 : Capacity to combine temporal and spatial dimensions when analysing and interpreting spatial planning.
  • CE5 : Capacity to read and interpret spatial information provided by statistical tables, graphs, maps, plans and satellite images correctly.
  • CE6 : Capacity to transform and synthesise spatial information provided by statistical tables, graphs, maps and plans.
  • CE7 : Capacity to determine and interpret the elements of the area in question according the scale of analysis.
  • CE8 : Capacity analyse territory as a complex, interrelated and interdependent system.
  • CE9 : Capacity to present and transmit knowledge related to spatial analysis in an ordered, simple and clear manner, appropriate to the context.
