Competencies and objectives
Course context for academic year 2024-25
The prerequisites that this subject needs is a course of real Analysis of one and several variables, a course of general Topology of sets, a course of linear Algebra and it would be also advisable to have made a course of Complex Analysis and another one of Measure and Integration Theory. The goal is to introduce the student to the learning of basic notions of Functional Analysis related to normed spaces, Banach, Hilbert, topological vector spaces and Operator Theory.
Course content (verified by ANECA in official undergraduate and Master’s degrees) for academic year 2024-25
Specific Competences (CE)
- CE14 : Resoldre problemes qualitatius i quantitatius segons models desenvolupats prèviament.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2024-25
It is intended that students know, understand and manage the techniques of the Theory of Functions and Functional Analysis. This has been revealed as an essential tool for the study of Operator Theory, Differential Equations, Theory of Distributions, Fourier Analysis and other mathematical disciplines, without forgetting that Functional Analysis, jointly with Measure Theory, form the basis of the mathematical foundations of modern Physics or Quantum Physics.
