La asignatura Economía Pública es una asignatura optativa de cuarto curso del Grado en Economía. Se encuadra dentro de la especialidad de Economía Pública.
Requisitos: Conocimientos básicos de Microeconomía, Macroeconomía, Matemáticas, Estadística y Teoría de Juegos. Familiaridad con algún paquete estadístico.

- CE11 : Analytical skills for developing theoretical frameworks that simplify study of the real economy and the capacity to set appropriate levels of abstraction when studying different economic questions.
- CE12 : Be able to use the appropriate tools for the analysis, diagnosis and solution of economic questions and problems.
- CE2 : Identify and anticipate relevant economic problems relating to resource allocation in general, in both the private and public context.

- To use analytical reasoning to broach and solve economic problems.
- To understand under which circumstances public intervention is necessary for efficiency and equity.
- To analyse public intervention in health and education.
- To understand basic social security mechanisms, such as pension systems, unemployment benefits and income redistribution policies.
- To understand the significance of tax incidence.
