Course context for academic year 2016-17

Foundations of Databases is a basic course that develops concepts presented in Schedule 1 and Mathematics 1 and introduces the basics of databases, critical to the effective and efficient management software , including development and many other areas benefiting from its power and versatility.

It is also the first subject that opens the way to design Databases ( 2nd year ) and, in general , to all subsequent courses dealing with design and manage the storage of large volumes of information and its integration into the structure company .

General Competences (CG)

  • CG4 : Coneixements bàsics sobre l'ús i programació dels ordinadors, sistemes operatius, bases de dades i programes informàtics amb aplicació en enginyeria.
  • CG6 : Coneixement adequat del concepte d'empresa, marc institucional i jurídic de l'empresa. Organització i gestió d'empreses.
