Course context for academic year 2015-16

Presentación y análisis histórico-crítico del teatro irlandés en lengua inglesa, correspondiente al siglo XX, situándolo en el contexto cultural y sociopolítico en que se genera y ahondando en la relación de esa literatura dramática con la tradición irlandesa, oral y escrita. Se prestará especial atención a las innovaciones que en todos los órdenes se deben al llamado Movimiento Dramático Irlandés, tanto en la vertiente estilística como escénica.

  • CG1 : Acquire the methodology and resources needed for literary research.
  • CG2 : Acquire specific advanced knowledge (regarding those acquired in the degree course) of the subjects studied.

  • CE6 : Acquire the philological resources needed to carry out literary research work (critical editing, bibliographic searches, databases, quotation systems, etc.).

  • CE12 : Carry out self-guided bibliographic searches using both electronic and traditional resources.

Familiarizarse con las corrientes dramáticas principales en lengua inglesa de la Irlanda del siglo XX, así como con los dramaturgos y obras más destacados.

Profundizar en el desarrollo y puesta en marcha de técnicas de análisis crítico aplicado a los textos dramáticos.

Ahondar en la relación entre el texto dramático escrito y las características principales que rigen la puesta en escena del mismo.
