Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2023-24

This course focuses on the improvement of oral and written skills in English, paying close attention to the structures and peculiarities of the English language that cause the greatest difficulties for the Spanish speaker. An in-depth study of complex verb tenses and grammatical structures, advanced phraseological units and the identification and correction of advanced errors in English will be carried out. On the other hand, from a productive point of view, the course aims to offer strategies for the improvement of written and oral communication, allowing a linguistic exchange in accordance with an advanced level of knowledge in English.

The methodology of the course, which will take place over 14 sessions (two sessions per week), will be eminently practical and will focus on practical activities aimed at improving students' oral and written communication. On the one hand, the teacher will provide brief theoretical contents which will seek to develop the proposed objectives and which will serve to reinforce those previously achieved. On the other hand, classroom dynamics will be created in order to put these contents into practice. Thus, the course will be developed in a practical way through small activities that favour student-student and student-teacher interaction at an advanced level.
