Course context for academic year 2019-20

The society of the 21st century sues with urgency changes in our form to relate us with the world. Without place to doubts, the humanistic disciplines represent an opportunity to reconsider the dominant ideologies and the social paradigms that have driven us, unfortunately, to dead ends -ours democracies live a moment of enormous agitation-, and thus we consider more than ever necessary, think about it and debate on appearances from the perspectives of education, environment, the relation with the tradition, the recovery of the memory, the respect by the others cultures or the knowledge of our past, etc.
The present course, therefore, analyses the photography and the travel writing, not only like as a source of rich information in details but like a didactic resource of big value, with the purpose to offer a panoramic of the human societies and the problematic that have gone germinating with the step of the time; therefore, we pretend that the student learn, argue and value these human activities from several perspectives and was conscious, to his time, of the possibilities of study that offer these disciplines, so linked between, while they are a terrific didactic resource to learn to be conscious, to teach to live together, and, especially, value the diversity and complexity of our world.
