Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2018-19

Inform about the importance of knowing, recommending and serving wines properly because they represent an important part of our gastronomic heritage and represent a high percentage of the degree of satisfaction that produces a meal. A good pairing enhances what is presented to us on the plate , bad marriages can ruin it. We will introduce ourselves in the world of wine through the importan sommeliers of the Valencian Community that will bring us their knowledge and experience. In this framework it is essential to know the role of the Denominations of Origin and in particular the operation of the D.O. Wines of Alicante. On the other hand we will introduce ourselves to the knowledge of classical cocktail and mixology, a tendency for cocktail parties that has taken great strength in recent years. Mixologists focus their work on the art and dexterity of mixing drinks, creating cocktails and developing new and exotic beverages that differ from known cocktails, experiencing unusual spirits, spices and mixers. In general mixologists expand the boundaries of classical cocktail party.
