In this subjet an overview of organic chemistry will be given to students. They would be able of relate the basic principles and general characteristics of reactivity of different functional groups with their properties and structure. Likewise, the basic principles of polymer chemistry, classification and various forms and polymerization mechanisms will be presented

Ability to relate the basic principles and general characteristics of reactivity of different groups functional properties and structure
Acquired new basics about the structure and stability of various intermediates involved in organic transformations.
Learn the basic principles of polymer chemistry, classification and different forms and mechanisms of polimerization.
Ability to predict physicochemical properties of a polymer based on its structure.
Being able to solve basic problems, consistently developing reaction mechanisms for fundamental reactions in organic chemistry.
Being able to solve the problems with physical and chemical properties of organic polymers as their composition and structure.
Be able to produce lab reports properly.
Being able to relate chemical processes carried out in the laboratory with the theories about mechanisms reaction studied.
Acquire friendly habits and environmental awareness on proper waste handling generated in a chemical laboratory.
Know how to acquire and use technical and bibliographic information relating to organic and polymer chemistry.
