Estudio de la lingüística aplicada a la enseñanza del inglés como lengua segunda o lengua extranjera. Esta asignatura busca aplicar los conceptos de la lingüística de manera práctica a los problemas del aula, proveyendo así para los alumnos una preparación para poder enseñar el idioma con una idea clara de las metodologías y metas que conducirán a una mayor efectividad en el aula.

- To introduce students to the various traditions of linguistics applied to the teaching of English as a foreign language;
- To inculcate an understanding of the classroom as a communicative situation;
- To emphasize the importance of using English as means of communication in the EFL classroom;
- To help students relate linguistic, discourse analytic and sociolinguistic concepts to teaching objectives and teaching activities;
- To provide structured information and practice of teaching techniques that enhance pupils´ communicative skills and expand their syntactic and lexical repertoire;
- To guide students through selected readings on the subject.
