Esta es una asignatura optativa que introduce al alumnado en el campo de la biología marina, está enmarcada en el itinerario 1 "Biología Ambiental" del grado en Biología.

- CE1 : Acquire the fundamentals of biological terminology, nomenclature, conventions and units.
- CE10 : Understand the fundamentals of the regulation of vital functions of organisms through internal and external factors and identify mechanisms for adapting to the environment.
- CE13 : Study the structure and function of biomolecules and understand their function in biological processes.
- CE20 : Understand the basic principles of immunity in living beings.
- CE21 : Isolate, cultivate and modify microorganisms, cells and tissue of pluricellular organisms.
- CE22 : Analyse and interpret the development, growth and biological cycles of living beings.
- CE3 : Understand and apply mathematical and statistical methods for validating models from experimental data applied to Biology.
- CE4 : Recognise different levels of organisation in living systems.
- CE7 : Understand evolutionary mechanisms and models.
- CE8 : Understand and know the genetic foundations of diversity.
- CE9 : Identify organisms and interpret the diversity of species in the environment, as well as their origin, evolution and behaviour.

1.- Iniciación al conocimiento de los ambientes marinos y la clasificación de los organismos en función de dichos ambientes
2.- Conocer las adaptaciones de los organismos al medio marino
3.-Identificar los diferentes tipos biológicos tanto tróficos, como reproductores o de relación
4.- Conocer aspectos aplicados de la biología marina: impactos en la costa, pesca, acuicultura, gestión de áreas marinas protegidas
