Course context for academic year 2021-22

Esta asignatura obligatoria se impartirá en el segundo semestre. En ella se parte de la formación geológica y ecológica adquirida en asignaturas de segundo y tercer curso (primer semestre) para centrarse en el ámbito litoral y sus características físicas y biológicas. Se describirán con detalle ambos aspectos y se introducirá al alumno en la interacción del hombre con dicho medio litoral.

Specific Competences:>>Theoretical

  • CE11 : Acquire knowledge of internal and external geology, as well as the materials and processes related to geology.
  • CE14 : Acquire knowledge of the different fields of application (resources, planning and management, infrastructures, etc.) of the marine sciences.
  • CE16 : Conocer e interpretar los factores que influyen en el clima y en el hidrodinamismo marino.
  • CE8 : Understand the basic principles of ecology, the structure and function of ecosystems, developing it for the marine and coastal environment.

 

Specific Competences:>>Ability

  • CE21 : Use the necessary information and documentation for the separation, identification and cataloguing of marine organisms.
  • CE22 : Capacity to gather data (oceanographic, biological, sediment, logical, chemical, etc.), evaluate, process and interpret it as per the theories in use.
  • CE25 : Interpret, characterise and map marine and coastal communities.
  • CE26 : Acquire the ability to design, process information, draft and execute projects related with marine and coastal environments.
  • CE33 : Design measures for the conservation and protection of marine and coastal species and habitats.
  • CE34 : Apply the knowledge and techniques acquired to characterise ecosystems and propose conservation, management and restoration measures.
  • CE36 : Ability for professional interaction with social segments, whose perceptions can be incorporated to improve the studies and/or activities to be carried out.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2021-22

 

  • Que el alumno conozca y comprenda la complejidad del medio físico litoral, los agentes actuantes y las formas a las que dan lugar.
  • Que el alumno conozca y comprenda la diversidad biológica y la riqueza de ecosistemas que se dan cita en el medio litoral.
  • Que el alumno comprenda la complejidad de usos y actividades que concurren en el medio litoral y las relaciones que mantienen entre sí.
  • Que el alumno sepa distinguir entre los diferentes elementos, factores y agentes que intervienen en la ordenación del espacio litoral.
  • Que el alumno conozca los métodos y técnicas de ordenación del litoral.
  • Ante el notable interés del litoral, se pretende formar al alumno en las diversas actuaciones de intervención del litoral para recuperar espacios degradados o para prevenir daños previsibles en un futuro próximo.
  • Que el alumno comprenda los criterios a aplicar en la conservación de los ambientes con cierto grado de rareza.
