La asignatura se incluye dentro de la materia Políticas Públicas. Corresponde con el perfil profesional que capacita al graduado en sociología en el diseño, planificación y evaluación de proyectos, especialmente orientado a la intervención social. Contiene así mismo elementos del perfil profesional relacionado con la investigación social aplicada, en este caso a la realización de encuestas electorales.
