Social Work is a profession and a discipline strongly linked to the context in which it develops in such a way that it is influenced by historical, political, social, economic and/or cultural variables. Thus, it is possible to find substantial variations both in the needs and in the Social Policies that respond to them and in the processes of creation and development of Social Work as a profession and as a discipline in the different continents or between countries of the same continent.
