Course context for academic year 2023-24

This subject supposes the first contact for the student with the development of the learning of computer technological elements.

This subject represents a key basic reinforcement for the development of the rest of the subjects of the degree, covering not only the set of technological skills potentially required in future professionals, but also in the development of the study plan itself, since they are both specifically to the training of the graduate as transversally to their technological education at the University of Alicante.

The multidisciplinary aspect of the subject within the context of computer technology makes it a key piece in the student's training and will configure a clear technological map of all the relevant aspects of computer science in public and private companies.

  • CG2 : Habilitat en l'ús de les tecnologies de la informació i comunicació.
  • CG3 : Capacitat d'anàlisi i de síntesi.

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE13 : Capacidad para identificar y manejar las fuentes de información y otras bases de datos, incluyendo Internet y otras técnicas y aplicaciones informáticas, con especial atención a las propias de la Administración electrónica.
  • CE8 : Capacidad para el manejo de herramientas extrajurídicas y de apoyo a la gestión y políticas públicas, priorizando la gestión económico-financiera.   • Understanding and analyzing the importance of computing in the Information Society in general and in public administration in particular.
  • Understanding and analyzing the evolution of calculus in history and its relevance in relation to modern computing.
  • Understanding, interpreting and analyzing basic logical formalisms as an essential part of financial calculation tools.
  • Understanding, interpreting and analyzing the basic characteristics of the most common logical and physical components present in computer systems.
  • Understanding, interpreting and analyzing the basic communication protocols and mechanisms between computers and the Internet as a fundamental resource.
  • Knowing how a spreadsheet operates with data.
  • Learning how to structure and manage information through a database.
  • Knowing how to apply the knowledge acquired through problem solving and computer practices.
  • Being able to use the technical language necessary to communicate in relation to the concepts seen, being rigorous in the explanations of any process.
