Course context for academic year 2026-27

A mandatory cross-disciplinary training activity common to all doctoral programs. It is managed by the International Doctoral School (EIDUA), and its primary objective is for the researcher-in-training to become familiar with their rights and obligations regarding their doctoral studies, as well as the program modalities, distinctions, and all administrative procedures detailed on the official EIDUA website.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2026-27

- To understand the key academic, administrative, and organizational aspects of doctoral studies and the development of the doctoral thesis—covering everything from general matters and the training and research phase to the doctoral research itself, as well as the steps leading up to the submission and defense of the thesis.

- To understand the principles of scientific integrity, good research practices, ethics, and the responsible management of research information and data.

- To provide information on the resources, services, and opportunities available to doctoral candidates, particularly regarding mobility, internationalization, training, funding, and professional development.

- To identify the various doctoral distinctions and program types available, as well as the requirements and procedures associated with industrial doctorates, the International Doctorate distinction, and international joint supervision (cotutelle).
