Competencies and objectives

Course context for academic year 2026-27

Water is the most important consumer good, and access to quality water is both a necessity and a right for all humanity. Water is also the primary media of transporting chemical substances, distributing them across the planet and connecting oceans, rivers, lakes, soils, and the atmosphere. This part of the master's program is fundamental to understanding how planet Earth functions, and therefore its content is deeply linked to atmospheric and lithospheric chemistry. Furthermore, it will be coordinated with the other subjects to ensure the acquisition of the generic competencies attributed to the module, in particular:

Foreign language proficiency (English).
Environmental legislation.
Report writing.
Ability to interrelate knowledge to address problems from different perspectives, enriching the solutions.
Ability to interpret the results of environmental chemical research at an advanced level.
Originality and creativity in the application of Environmental Chemistry to problem-solving.
