Course context for academic year 2026-27
The knowledge imparted will allow students to understand and assimilate concepts related to Engineering in general, and particularly to Multimedia Engineering. The approach is twofold: focusing on basic modeling of physical systems for the world of animation and video games, while also providing the fundamental physical knowledge necessary to understand multimedia, information, and communication technologies.
The course will provide students with methods and strategies for problem-solving and the application of the scientific method.
The subject consists of different types of activities organized into theoretical lectures, problem-solving classes, and laboratory sessions. In all activities, both individual and group work are necessary to successfully achieve the course objectives.
Theory and problem-solving activities will take place in the lecture hall, while laboratory practices will be held in the Optics Laboratory located on the ground floor of EPS III.

Acquire basic knowledge of kinematics, dynamics, waves, and the physical foundations of electronics, and their applications in engineering, establishing the corresponding relationships that exist between these branches of Physics and other subjects in the curriculum.
Know how to apply the concepts and laws of these branches of Physics to the resolution of specific practical situations, with greater proficiency in problem-solving.
Achieve, through laboratory practices, a better understanding of physical phenomena and a certain degree of experimental operational capability.
Introduce the student to the management and consultation of the extensive existing bibliography in Physics.
