Course context for academic year 2025-26

This course focuses on the analysis, identification, and management of criminal offenses that may affect organizations within the framework of regulatory compliance. It aims to provide students with an applied understanding of key criminal offenses in the business context, as well as the ability to design control mechanisms to prevent, detect, and mitigate these risks. The course is particularly relevant in a context where organizations face increasing legal and social demands regarding corporate criminal liability.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2025-26

The main objective of this course is to equip students with the knowledge and skills to understand and manage criminal risks in the business environment. By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Identify key criminal offenses that may affect an organization.
  • Interpret and apply current legislation related to corporate criminal liability.
  • Conduct criminal risk assessments using professional criteria and methodologies.
  • Design and implement control measures to mitigate criminal risks.
  • Integrate criminal risk analysis into a broader compliance management system.
  • Adopt a critical and proactive attitude towards ethical and legal organizational management.
