This subject is part of the Master's program, within the Political, Economic, and Social Behavior module. The course focuses specifically on economic aspects, and deeper on those related to development in the specific geographic area.

This subject is part of the "Cooperativism, Territory, and Sustainable Development" program for the Master's program.

Skills/Skills

  • CB7 : Know how to apply the acquired knowledge and their problem-solving ability in new or little-known environments within broader (or multidisciplinary) contexts related to their area of study.
  • CB9 : Know how to communicate their conclusions, and the knowledge and ultimate reasons that support them, to specialized and non-specialized audiences in a clear and unambiguous manner.

  • CB6 : Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context.
  • CG1 : Identify the conceptual and theoretical frameworks for a comparative analysis of Latin American institutions and political, economic and social processes.
  • CG5 : Purchase the basic knowledge on theoretical tools, methodological, technological and analytical from the critical use of the sources for the studio and analysis of the socioeconomic reality of Latin America.

 

Skills/Competences

  • CE3 : Apply methodological procedures typical of scientific research to the study of Latin America's past.
  • CE5 : Analyse the basic shots of the evolution of the diverse socioeconomic politics applied in Latin America in relation with the forming of the institutional structures.
  • CG2 : Reflect upon and systematically analyse the political, economic and social realities of Latin America, with a view to understanding how the situation in the region has evolved.
  • CT1 : Carry out professional practice with full respect for fundamental rights and equality among men and women, the principles of equal opportunities, non-discrimination and universal accessibility for all, as well as the values inherent in a culture of peace.
  • CT2 : The ability to adapt to new online and blended learning environments.
  • CT3 : Acquire the skills needed for effective interpersonal interaction that facilitates teamwork.

  • Understand the main concepts related to economic growth theories that allow their application to the evolution of Latin American economies.
  • Understand the processes of economic integration, the current economic situation and the international integration of Latin American economies.
  • Identify sources of economic information and apply analytical tools to the study of Latin American economies.
  • Develop the ability to analyse and critique the evolution of economic development in Latin America.
