Course context for academic year 2025-26

Los Estudios Políticos, Económicos y Sociales Contemporáneos de América Latina se caracterizan porque constituyen un conjunto de enunciados pertenecientes al ámbito de las Ciencias Sociales.

Su cometido es resolver problemas de la realidad sobre las interacciones entre entidades de esencia tan compleja como el factor humano.  Se trata, pues, de resolver problemas de talla elevada sobre características muy numerosas, de toda índole, tanto cuantificables como cualitativas.

Las técnicas al uso para resolver en ese contexto se limitan a estimaciones basadas fundamentalmente en la experiencia de los profesionales y en el empirismo que proporcionan las aproximaciones de la operatoria estadística.

Corresponde reforzar la coherencia causal y el rigor de los resultados profundizando en las destrezas de aplicación de métodos formales.

  • CG6 : Promote the development of the reflection and of the open thought, critic and creative to generate significant learnings and transferibles to situations of the academic field, personal, familiar and social
  • CG8 : Work in squads interdisciplinares in fields of entities and public institutions, organisations or private companies in the Latin American territory.

 

Conocimientos/Contenidos

  • CB6 : Possess and understand knowledge that provides a basis or opportunity to be original in the development and/or application of ideas, often in a research context
  • CE6 : Develop conceptual criteria on what is the Gobernanza, and his relation with the Civil Society in the Latin American context, from the state approaches, regional and local, and what is the Leadership in the political systems and officials in Latin America
  • CG5 : Purchase the basic knowledge on theoretical tools, methodological, technological and analytical from the critical use of the sources for the studio and analysis of the socioeconomic reality of Latin America.

 

Skills/Competences

  • CE13 : Analyse the potentiality of the digitalisation in the current and coming world, his opportunities for the development in the social areas and the risks, especially the brecha digital and the security.
  • CE3 : Apply own methodological procedures of the scientific investigation in the knowledge of the past of America Latica
  • CE7 : Analyse the current educational reality and identify the importance of the educational politics for the development of a democratic society.
  • CG2 : To systematically reflect and analyze the political, economic and social realities of Latin America, in order to understand the evolution of the reality of the Latin American region.
  • CG9 : Apply the knowledge in the implementation of projects of local development to socioeconomic level and politician in Latin America.
  • CT1 : Develop the professional exercise with full respect to the fundamental rights and the equality among men and women, to the principles of equality of opportunities, no discrimination and universal accessibility of all the people, as well as to the own values of a culture of the peace.
  • CT3 : Achieve the necessary skills for an optimum interpersonal interaction that facilitate the work in squad.

 

 

 

Learning outcomes (Training objectives)

  • To make known the potential of digitalization in the current and future world, its opportunities for development in social areas and the risks, especially the digital divide and security.
  • To train in universal problem-solving methodology whose characteristics are hybrid, both quantitative and qualitative.
  • To teach the generalities about the digital society and to train in the use of digital tools of professional application.
  • To train in research, methodologically founded, and in the critical use of sources on the processes of political, economic and social construction of Latin America.
  • Use theoretical and methodological tools to study and investigate the socio-political and economic reality of contemporary Latin America.
  • To make known the methodological skills of the knowledge society: causality, systematization, reuse, quality, prevention and sustainability.
