La asignatura proporciona un contexto de carácter general, temporal, histórico y teórico, para el conjunto de las asignaturas del máster. Se explican tanto los principales hechos histórico-económicos relativos al proceso de integración de la economía mundial, como la evolución de los planteamientos de los más destacados economistas al respecto.
