This course provides training on the contributions of Applied Linguistics to second and foreign language education. It specifically addrress curriculum design and assessment. In addition, the course trains students in research methods.

Skills/Skills
- CE12 : Ability to read and use specialised bibliography, terminology and conceptual tools that can act as the basis for teaching and research, both with regard to the common aspects of teaching second languages/foreign languages and to their application to Spanish and/or English.
- CT3 : Acquire the skills, strategies and procedures to know how to act ethically and responsibly in the search for solutions that promote sustainable development, gender equality, non-discrimination, inclusion, justice, peace and social equity.
Conocimientos/Contenidos
- CE1 : Understand the stages of research work and the specific methods used for research into the teaching of Spanish and/or English as second languages / foreign languages.
Learning outcomes (Training objectives)
- Knowledge of current perspectives and trends in ESL / EFL programming and evaluation and specific research methodologies in this area.
- Knowledge of specialized reference bibliography and sources of information on applied linguistics to the teaching of second or foreign languages
- Knowledge of relevant conceptual terms and tools in the field of linguistics applied to the teaching of second or foreign languages.
- Application of the knowledge acquired in case study activities, problem solving, activity design.
- Analytical and comprehensive use of the reference bibliography and information sources.
- Adequate use of conceptual terms and tools.
- Application of the knowledge acquired to academic works.
- Responsibility in individual tasks.
- Collaboration in collective tasks.
- Development of a flexible and critical attitude towards the diversity of methods, theories, perspectives.
