Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2025-26

Los objetivos que se pretenden alcanzar con los contenidos de la materia son la comprensión por parte del alumno de los aspectos metodológicos y teóricos de la economía de los recursos naturales, y el conocimiento de los instrumentos de política económica ambiental. Se considera de especial interés por la importancia que han adquirido en los últimos años la protección del medio ambiente y el desarrollo sostenible.

Con el estudio de esta asignatura, el alumno será capaz de desarrollar capacidades y habilidades para enfrentar la problemática relacionada con el medio ambiente y los recursos naturales desde un enfoque histórico, económico, social, ambiental y político.

Los estudiantes conocerán los instrumentos de valoración económica de los recursos naturales, así como los instrumentos disponibles para el análisis y solución de la problemática ambiental y de los recursos naturales, con énfasis en aspectos económicos.

Learning outcomes (Training objectives)

The basic aim of this subject is that students should develop the knowledge and skills to approach environmental problems from a social-economic viewpoint, supported by basic concepts of environmental economics and ecology.

The specific aims of the course are:

- To understand the environmental impact of economic activities.

- To critically interpret a range of theories on the relationship between the economy and the environment:  conventional approach, critical approach, other approaches.

- To acquire the skills necessary to relate economics to other sciences.
