Course context for academic year 2025-26

La asignatura de Sistemas Embebidos se sitúa en un contexto especialmente dinámico debido a la rápida evolución tecnológica y la integración creciente de la inteligencia artificial (IA) en dispositivos embebidos. Esta materia no solo aborda los fundamentos tradicionales de diseño y desarrollo de sistemas embebidos, sino que también explora cómo la IA puede ser implementada en entornos con recursos limitados, transformando así dispositivos cotidianos en soluciones inteligentes capaces de tomar decisiones autónomas en tiempo real. A lo largo del curso, los estudiantes aprenderán sobre arquitecturas específicas para la ejecución de algoritmos de aprendizaje automático, optimización de modelos para plataformas con restricciones energéticas y computacionales, y casos de uso práctico donde la combinación de sistemas embebidos e IA ofrece ventajas competitivas significativas. Este enfoque moderno responde a las demandas actuales del mercado laboral, preparando a los futuros ingenieros para liderar proyectos innovadores en diversos sectores industriales.

  • CEIC1 : Capacity to design and build digital systems, including computers, microprocessor-based systems and communications systems.
  • CEIC2 : Capacity to develop specific processors and embedded systems, as well as develop and optimise the software for said systems.
  • CEIC5 : Capacity to analyse, evaluate and select the correct hardware and software platforms to support embedded and real time applications.
  • CEIC7 : Capacity to analyse, evaluate, select and configure hardware platforms to develop computer applications and services.

 

Basic Competences

  • CB3 : Students must be able to gather and interpret relevant data (usually within their area of study) in order to make judgements that include reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues.
