Competencies and objectives
Course context for academic year 2025-26
The course addresses local development from a tourism perspective. It focuses specifically on the opportunities tourism offers in local contexts to improve the living conditions of the population, enhance the dynamism of its productive structure, and protect its environment. Likewise, special attention is paid to tourism projects and innovative territorial practices that promote local, sustainable, and inclusive development.
The content and activities planned not only offer an up-to-date conceptual framework on the topic but also seek to stimulate critical reflection and entrepreneurial thinking among students in local contexts.
Due to its conceptual content and applied nature, the course is integrated into the two pathways of the Bachelor's Degree in Tourism: the one related to tourism business and the one related to the planning and management of tourism destinations.
