Competencies and objectives
Course context for academic year 2025-26
The Pedagogy of Religion addresses the issue of what it is to educate in the faith and in the Christian life. The Didactics of religion focuses on teaching Catholic Religion and Morals, that is, teaching faith and Christian life. Currently, we continue the teaching of this subject as part of the legislative development of the LOMLOE.
Furthermore, this subject is basic and essential to obtain the DECA (Ecclesiastical Declaration of Academic Competence), which is awarded by the Spanish Episcopal Conference and is accredited for a religious class (24 ects) (https://www. conferenceepiscopal.es/deca/ ) and can also be a professional incentive for future teachers.
The “San Pablo” Superior Institute of Religious Sciences of Alicante offers the possibility of taking the remaining subjects to obtain the degree (https://iscrsanpablo.com/deca-infantil-y-primaria/).
