Course context for academic year 2024-25
Esta asignatura de carácter básico y común está orientada a formar ingenieros que puedan satisfacer la gran demanda actual (y futura) de profesionales especializados en temas relacionados con la gestión de datos estructurados y semiestructurados en formato XML.
XML, siglas en inglés de eXtensible Markup Language (Lenguaje de marcas extensible), es un metalenguaje desarrollado por el World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). XML proporciona una serie de reglas para que cualquiera pueda definir su propio conjunto de etiquetas y atributos y pueda definir las relaciones que existen entre esas etiquetas. XML se emplea en multitud de sistemas informáticos: bases de datos, ficheros de configuración, formato de intercambio entre aplicaciones, servicios web, etc. El uso de XML no se limita a Internet y la Web, sino que se emplea en multitud de contextos informáticos.
Esta asignatura emplea un modelo de aprendizaje híbrido (blended learning) combinado con la clase invertida (flipped classroom o flip teaching), en el que se emplean varios cursos en línea compuestos de videotutoriales para ofrecer un aprendizaje flexible y adaptado a las necesidades particulares de cada estudiante. Para ello, se definen unos conocimientos y habilidades mínimos y obligatorios que deben alcanzar todos los estudiantes, más unos conocimientos y habilidades opcionales a los que pueden optar aquellos estudiantes que lo deseen. Este modelo de aprendizaje se refleja en la metodología empleada y en los instrumentos y criterios de evaluación.
