Course context for academic year 2024-25

La asignatura se encuadra en el 4º semestre de la titulación de Ingeniería Civil y es la segunda que se imparte en el área de conocimiento de Ingeniería del Terreno. Se pretende dotar al alumnado de conocimientos básicos en Mecánica de Suelo y Mecánica de las Rocas para poder afrontar con éxito las asiganturas del área de semestres posteriores, a saber: Geotecnia Y Cimientos, Construcciones Geotécnicas y Geotecnia de Obras Hidráulicas, que son aplicaciones de Geotecnia y emplean necesariamente los conceptos aquí adquiridos.

Siguiendo el compromiso adoptado por la UA para alcanzar los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible promulgados por la ONU, la asignatura Mecánica de suelos y rocas contribuye específicamente en la consecución de los objetivos siguientes:
ODS 9. Industria, innovación e infraestructura.
ODS 11. Ciudades y comunidades sostenibles.

Digitalización: Cálculo del índice SMR (Slope Mass Rating) mediante SMRtool, aplicación desarrollada por el gruo de investigación de Ingeniería del Terreno de la UA.
