La asignatura Historia y cultura contemporánea aborda el estudio de las manifestaciones literarias, artísticas, científicas y filosóficas más relevantes en la edad contemporánea, sobre todo del mundo occidental. Este estudio analiza transversalmente tales manifestaciones a través de los conceptos más relevantes de la modernidad y de la crisis de la idea de civilización y progreso.
