Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2024-25

Asignatura dedicada al análisis de la variedad geográfica de la lengua española en Hispanoamérica en relación a su estructura fonética, morfosintáctica y léxica, y, en general, ocupada del estudio de los hechos lingüísticos, geográficos y sociales.

Los alumnos/as podrán completar los conocimientos adquiridos durante el desarrollo de la asignatura Sociolingüística y Dialectología Españolas de carácter diastrático y diatópico con El español de América de tipo diatópico. Así mismo, podrán completar sus asignaturas de carácter sincrónico con esta en la que se contempla la diatopía.

La asignatura El español de América tiene una orientación teórico-práctica. Los contenidos teóricos de cada uno de los temas incluidos en la guía docente se expondrán de forma clara y ordenada durante el desarrollo de las clases teóricas, intentando en todo momento fomentar la participación del alumnado. Por ello, a través de la lección participativa, se pretenderá estimular su capacidad reflexiva sobre lo expuesto e incitarlo a que exprese sus propias ideas y juicios acerca de la materia tratada. El desarrollo de las clases teóricas incluirá asimismo la aplicación de los contenidos a casos concretos en cuyo análisis deberán participar también los alumnos/as.

Por otra parte, se explicarán unos ejemplos prácticos, relacionados con la materia tratada, muy similares a los que se le plantean en el trabajo teórico-práctico. Con estos ejemplos, los alumnos/as ponen en práctica los conocimientos adquiridos durante el desarrollo de las clases teóricas y los aplican a casos concretos.

Los materiales estarán a disposición del alumnado por medio del Campus Virtual  y por la Plataforma Multimedia.

Los alumnos/as podrán participar también en distintos foros temáticos y en debates relacionados con los diferentes temas tratados. En ellos podrán exponer todas aquellas dudas que les vayan surgiendo y compartir con sus compañeros/as los conocimientos teóricos adquiridos.

Finalmente, se le recomendará al alumnado que, para todas aquellas dudas que no haya planteado o para tratar cuestiones de forma más detallada, haga uso de las horas de tutoría que la profesora haya fijado o recurra a las tutorías virtuales, a través del Campus Virtual de la Universidad de Alicante o de la Plataforma Multimedia.

  • CGUA2 : Be able to use basic ICT tools at user level.
  • CGUA3 : Ability to communicate effectively and have linguistic understanding of one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia (Spanish or Catalan) in their discipline.

 

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE12 : Capacity to understand, value and take advantage of multilingualism with an attitude favouring the standardisation of Catalan, to participate in cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as promoting it to ensure the better social development of the language.

  • CUA2 : Be able to use basic ICT tools at user level.
  • CUA3 : Be able to express oneself orally and in writing in one's discipline in one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia.

 

Specific Competences (CE):>>Conceptual

  • CC10 : Understand the pragmatic-textual and discursive characteristics of the Spanish language to be able to use, transmit and apply said knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Spanish orally and in writing.
  • CC11 : Be able to identify the variants in register, diatopic and diastratic of the Spanish language as an individual who is part of a geographically diverse linguistic community, both socially and culturally, recognising the value and richness of said variation as the heritage of all Spanish speakers.
  • CC5 : Capacity to communicate in the language of the speciality (Spanish) and in a second language in oral and written situations to enable fluid communication in the future professional and/or academic contexts the student will be involved with in the future.
  • CC7 : Understand the morphosyntactic characteristics of the Spanish language to be able to use, transmit and apply said knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Spanish orally and in writing.
  • CC8 : Understand the phonetic and phonological characteristics of the Spanish language to be able to use, transmit and apply said knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Spanish orally and in writing.
  • CC9 : Understand the lexico-semantic characteristics of the Spanish language to be able to use, transmit and apply said knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Spanish orally and in writing.

 

Specific Competences (CE):>>Procedural

  • CP18 : Be able to use the standard model of the Spanish language and the mechanisms of lexical creation and innovation as an active member of a society in permanent evolution to adapt the Spanish language to the communication needs of its speakers.
  • CP20 : Capacity to use the pertinent materials and resources: bibliographic repertories, dictionaries, works of reference, critical editions, translations and ICTs as an independent learner able to control one's own learning process and make the corresponding independent progress.
  • CP21 : Be able to explain and argue the theoretical and practical content of Spanish language and literature as one who understands and transmits this knowledge, as well as giving oral and written advice on the knowledge acquired.

 

Specific Competences (CE):>>Attitude

  • CA22 : Be able to value and take advantage of multilingualism and multiculturalism as a social agent participating in the construction of a plural and tolerant society on the basis of the multicultural configuration of the Spanish-speaking world.
