Course context for academic year 2024-25
Aproximación historiográfica y metodológica a la historia y cultura de los pueblos de tradición cultural persa: descripción de los principales pueblos y países de herencia persa, estudiando la evolución de sus principales rasgos sociales, culturales y referenciales.
La asignatura ofrece al alumnado una formación básica que contribuye al desarrollo de las competencias relacionadas con el asesoramiento cultural, la investigación y la documentación de los pueblos de tradición persa, incluidos los del subcontinente indio.
La materia de la asignatura instruye y completa en los conocimientos y destrezas básicos que el alumnado habrá adquirido en otras asignaturas de contenido cultural / literario de formación práctica a lo largo de su formación académica relacionado con los pueblos árabe islámicos y no árabes (Lengua Persa 3º; Historia de la cultura árabe islámica 1 y 2; Literatura; Literatura árabe, época clásica 1º), de modo que también se presenta en forma coordinada con las asignaturas ya cursadas de historia y literatura.

Specific Competences (CE)
- CE1 : Understand the key theories of the disciplines associated with Arab and Islamic Studies and apply them in practice to be able to operate appropriately in the different professional profiles accessible through the degree qualification or undertake further studies with a high level of autonomy.
- CE10 : Understand the original space of Islam, its expansion and the basic points of reference regarding religion and historical and social evolution in Islamic and its host societies, to understand and interpret the different cultural, literary, artistic and philosophical materials produced by Islamic culture.
- CE11 : Interpret the social and political history of the Arab world to understand and interpret the role of social and political phenomena in the construction of classical and contemporary thinking.
- CE5 : Capacity to interpret, produce and develop academic descriptions and arguments and/or technical reports related to the professional contexts that can be accessed with the degree qualification.
- CE9 : Analyse and interpret historical, geographical, religious and scientific texts and discourses in Arabic, using appropriate techniques for analysis.
Transversal Competences

DEGREE IN CATALAN STUDIES
General Competences (CG)
- CG1 : Capacity to master the key theories, perspectives and conceptualisations for constructing the theoretical framework of linguistic and literary disciplines applied to Catalan language and literature as an expert on the subject and in different professional profiles.
- CG2 : Capacity to understand the role of language in the construction of human beings as active members of a linguistic and cultural community and relate this to the function of individuals in society.
- CG3 : Capacity to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques.
- CG4 : Capacity to manage and use the resources provided by the information and communications technologies and apply those to the language and literature industries.
- CG5 : Ability to understand the main stages, movements, writers and works of the literature of the second language.
General Competences acquired at University of Alicante (CGUA)
- CGUA2 : Be able to use basic ICT tools at user level.
- CGUA3 : Ability to communicate effectively and have linguistic understanding of one of the two official languages of the Region of Valencia (Spanish or Catalan) in their discipline.
Specific Competences (CE)
- CE1 : Capacity to communicate in the Catalan language in communicative situations (oral and written), allowing fluid communication in the professional and academic areas in which the student will be working in the future, taking into account his/her knowledge of the historical, social, cultural and artistic reality of his/her context.
- CE10 : Capacity to use the pertinent resources and materials for self-learning (bibliographies, dictionaries, reference works, terminological works, tutorials, new technologies) and transmit the information in the Catalan language.
- CE11 : Be able to develop reading, analysis and synthesis techniques, formulate working hypotheses, demonstrate them with arguments and reach conclusions, as well as recognise and ensure the textual coherence (structure of the text, organisation of ideas, progression of information, use of keywords), to explain and argue any subject related to Catalan language and literature, thus achieving the role of expert, transmitter and adviser regarding the knowledge acquired.
- CE12 : Capacity to understand, value and take advantage of multilingualism with an attitude favouring the standardisation of Catalan, to participate in cultural and linguistic diversity, as well as promoting it to ensure the better social development of the language.
- CE2 : Capacity to understand morphological, syntactic, phonetic and lexico-semantic characteristics to use, transmit and apply knowledge to the analysis, comprehension and production of Catalan in oral and written forms.
- CE9 : Capacity to identify the currents of literary criticism, their categories, concepts and nomenclature as a key factor in the development of the capacity to criticise and analyse text (literary, cinematographic, advertising), as regards the creative manifestation and reflection of the sociocultural context.

- CP20 : Capacity to use the pertinent materials and resources: bibliographic repertories, dictionaries, works of reference, critical editions, translations and ICTs as an independent learner able to control one's own learning process and make the corresponding independent progress.

Objetivos conceptuales:
1. Conocer los principales periodos históricos de los pueblos de tradición persa, de Irán Asia Central y el subcontinente Indio en época islámica.
2. Conocer los acontecimientos socioculturales más relevantes de la historia del islam oriental en Irán, Afganistán, Asia Central, Pakistán e India de época clásica y moderna para entender su evolución.
3. Conocer los distintos ámbitos geográficos en que se desarrolla la producción cultural persa en época clásica y moderna.
4. Conocer los rasgos estéticos y elementos referenciales propios de la producción cultural del mundo persa islámico.
