1º) La Historia instrumento básico de la formación intelectual y profesional 2º) Contextualiza las demás materias del currículo. 3º) Permite conocer los factores históricos, especialmente la intervención del Estado, que han influido e influyen en la diversidad temporal y espacial de los mercados de trabajo, de los marcos de relaciones laborales. y del nivel de vida y bienestar de los trabajadores.4º) Aproxima a la complejidad del proceso histórico mundial en el siglo XX y comienzos del XXI, con especial dedicación a los ámbitos europeo y español.5º) El uso de documentación literaria, numérica, gráfica, etc. permite el proceso de técnicas de trabajo intelectual y el inicio de técnicas de investigación.
