Competencies and objectives
Course context for academic year 2024-25
The Degree in Mathematics includes within its teaching programme, the performance of external pre-professional internships in collaborating entities (institutions and public or private companies) that carry out their activity in fields related to the training provided in the degree. The external internships, of an optional nature and equivalent to a subject of 6 ECTS CREDITS, are offered in the fourth year. These practices have two main objectives. Firstly, that students can complete their training through contact with the world of work before finishing their studies, and secondly, connect the needs of the labor market with the training activities of the University.

Specific Competences (CE)
- CE16 : Prepare, present and defend scientific reports both in writing and orally to an audience.
- CE4 : Know how to abstract the structural properties (of mathematical objects, of observed reality and other contexts) distinguishing them from those that are purely occasional and be able to prove them with demonstrations or refute them with counter-examples, as well as identify errors of incorrect reasoning.
- CE5 : Propose, analyse, validate and interpret models of simple real-life situations, using the most appropriate mathematical tools for the purpose.
- CE7 : Use computer applications for statistical analysis, numerical calculus and symbolic calculus, graphic visualisation and others to experiment in Mathematics and solve problems.
Generic Degree Course Competences
