Course context for academic year 2024-25
Nowdays, the application and use of advanced software tools, communication networks, and new information and communication technologies are fundamental to the success of tourism companies and destinations.
In this course, we will focus on three specific competencies: understanding the application and use of advanced software tools for tourism management and planning, understanding the application and use of communication networks in the management of tourism companies and destinations, and understanding the application and use of new information and communication technologies for decision-making, goal-setting, strategy development, and commercial policy in tourism companies.
Acquiring these competencies is essential for professionals in the tourism sector who seek to excel in an increasingly competitive market. With these tools, they will be able to make informed and strategic decisions to improve the efficiency, quality, and profitability of their tourism companies and destinations.
Throughout the program, participants will learn how to apply these competencies in the specific context of the tourism sector and how to use them to address the challenges and opportunities presented by today's tourism market. We hope that upon completing the program, participants will feel prepared to lead and transform the tourism sector through the application of these advanced competencies in tourism management and planning.

- To know the main advanced software tools for tourism management and planning, as well as their practical application in the tourism industry.
- To develop practical skills in the use of these tools, so that students can apply them in the management of tourism companies and destinations.
- To identify the role of communication networks in the management of tourism companies and destinations, and understand how these networks can be used to improve efficiency and effectiveness in tourism management.
- To become familiar with new information and communication technologies in the tourism industry, and understand how they can be used to make decisions, define objectives, strategies, and commercial policies in tourism companies.
- To develop practical skills in the application of these technologies in tourism management, so that students can apply them in decision-making and the definition of strategies and commercial policies in tourism companies. a good knowledge on the functioning a feature of the most relevant technological devices for the e-commerce activities.
