Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2024-25
The objective of the course is to introduce students to the comparative study of some relevant exponents of literature.
Catalan and Castilian literature of the Middle Ages, through a series of productive topics and, especially, direct analysis, both
individually and collectively, from a selection of collated microtexts from each of these two literary traditions.
The desirable learning outcomes are that students achieve a minimum background of the existing links between two
of the most important Iberian literatures of the Middle Ages, such as Catalan and Castilian, as well as learning to
assess the profitability of comparatism as a methodological strategy applied in the analysis and interpretation of literary texts.
