Competencies and objectives
Course context for academic year 2024-25
The Basic Physiology subject aims to establish the bases of the functioning and normal processes of the different physiological systems of the human body. It is closely linked to other subjects that make up basic training, and especially with the subject Physiology of Exercise and Training. Due to its basic nature, it is also closely related to other compulsory and optional subjects in the study plan, and which, as a whole, will allow the acquisition of the general and specific skills of the Degree and thus guarantee the acquisition of professional profiles.

Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2024-25
To understand the fundamental physiological mechanisms in humans at different levels, from the cellular level to the level of the organism as a whole, including the different tissues, organs and physiological systems that comprise it. With special emphasis on the mechanisms of regulation and integration that allow for homeostasis, and all of this as a basis for understanding the physiological adaptations that take place during physical exercise.
