Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2023-24

    En el contexto de los procesos mundiales de asociación y cooperación entre países y territorios del mundo frente a problemas supranacionales que afectan colectivamente a los Estados; a la globalización creciente de las organizaciones internacionales en general; y a las transformaciones que las tecnologías de la información han impuesto a las prácticas tradicionales referidas a la comunicación, la documentación y el tratamiento de textos y discursos, este curso se centra en:
1) el estudio y la sistematización de los aspectos fundamentales de los organismos e instituciones internacionales (tanto de ámbito europeo como supraeuropeo) que son relevantes para la tarea de los traductores que trabajan en ellos y de quienes deseen hacerlo, y
2) la adquisición de competencias específicas para la práctica profesional en dichos entornos de trabajo, a través del análisis, la traducción y la corrección de textos habituales en dichas instituciones (ONU, Comisión Europea, Parlamento Europeo, Tribunal de La Haya, etc.).

Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE11 : Mastery of advanced documentation techniques applied to the field of discourse in the speciality and assessment of the documentary resources that enable the understanding, production and translation of texts in the speciality to be adequately addressed.
  • CE12 : Management capacity of professional translation projects.
  • CE3 : Mastery of the techniques of analysis and synthesis of documents pertaining to the thematic field of the speciality.
  • CE4 : Expert handling of rhetorical-pragmatic strategies in a foreign language and in one's own language.
  • CE5 : Acquire professional competence for the collation, proof-reading and editing of texts in one's own language.
