Course context for academic year 2023-24
Inglés II relies on the assumption that the skills acquired in Inglés I have been grasped. The students should be able to read and understand academic texts readily.They should have enlarged their academic and technical vocabulary to fluently read and understand longer passages to develop writing techniques in the context of science and engineering. Inglés II will also be concerned with academic oral and written expression in the fields of science and engineering.

DEGREE IN SOUND AND IMAGE IN TELECOMMUNICATION ENGINEERING
UA Basic Transversal Competences
- CT11 : Capacity to learn and apply new concepts and methods in an autonomous and interdisciplinary fashion.
- CT14 : Capacity for self-criticism needed to analyse and improve the quality of projects.
- CT6 : Capacity to use the English language fluently to access technical information, respond to the needs of society and be self-sufficient when preparing one's professional career.

Basic Transversal Competences

Main Objectives:
- Acquire and know how to use English in the context of science and engineering.
- Acquire competence in identifying and deciphering semantic and sintactical structures common in English aural and written discourse.
- Develop an understanding of academic and specific vocabulary.
- Acquire the basis to develop an understanding of the language of graphs.
- Develop skills in expository writing.
- Develop skills in pronunciation, rythm and intonation to apply in the different types of readings.
- Acquire an effective approach to producing an oral presentation.

- Build up the means to reach the standards for level B1 as established in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
- Practise oral and written reception and production strategies in the ICT most relevant fields (academic, job market, publicity to name some).
