La asignatura se enmarca dentro de la Ingeniería del Software. Concretamente abarca las actividades conducentes a la confección de un plan de pruebas del desarrollo de un sistema software, así como la ejecución de dicho plan utilizando las metodologías, tecnologías y herramientas automáticas más adecuadas para contribuir al éxito en el desarrollo de un proyecto software (satisfacer tiempos de entrega estimados, satisfacer costes estimados, y satisfacer las expectativas del cliente)
