Course context for academic year 2023-24

El objetivo de esta asignatura es la adquisición de los conocimientos y habilidades necesarios para la cuantificación, análisis y evaluación del estado nutricional de un individuo o de una comunidad mediante instrumentos como diagnósticos, encuestas alimentarias y nutricionales, etc. También se enseñará el cálculo y el análisis de indicadores como el Índice de Masa Corporal (IMC) o Índice de Quetelet y otros que permiten evaluar las características alimentarias y nutricionales de la población.

La asignatura se centra en el aprendizaje de los fundamentos teóricos del análisis cuantitativo aplicado en nutrición dentro del ámbito clínico, de diagnóstico o de investigación. El alumno o alumna adquirirá la capacidad de utilizar las técnicas estadísticas e interpretar resultados en un entorno profesional. Además, la formación adquirida permitirá al alumno/a disponer de herramientas transversales a otras asignaturas del plan de estudios como la Nutrición Comunitaria, la Salud Publica y la Epidemiología.
