Specific objectives stated by the academic staff for academic year 2022-23

This course proposes a journey through some of the most conflictive periods in history in which change is based on recourse to the ancient past. The fundamental historical reference will be the periods of change based on the social and economic transformations that occur in the historical future. All this offered in an entertaining and educational way through:
• the forms of representation of these companies
• its images and artistic representations of antiquity
• their ways of configuring the collective imagination
• building your essences
• cultural references to Antiquity
• and the articulation of its transcendent world
A way of approaching social history is offered through its material culture, through the "reflections" that these societies generate in art, through their external manifestations on the ideological, religious, symbolic or prestige plane.
Students must achieve the following skills:
• know the main events and processes of the historical periods that are treated
• understand the mechanisms of social change in history
• analyze the basic socioeconomic systems of the historical periods covered in the course
• manage the basic concepts and fundamental historiographical tools
• know how to relate the different levels of the structure of History in a complex way
