Competencies and objectives
Course context for academic year 2021-22
The Advanced Microeconomics subject of the third year of the bachelor's degree in Economics gives continuity to the subjects Introduction to Microeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics and Strategic Behavior and Economics previously studied in the first, second and third years, respectively.
We will study how individuals decide in a context of uncertainty. We will also present an introduction to games with incomplete information to later make applications in auctions, provision of public goods and others. We will make an introduction to Behavioral Economics, which is one of the areas that have experienced a major push in Economics in recent years. We will also review some aspects related to information asymmetries between agents. Finally we will focus on issues related to international trade, where we will start by looking at Ricardo's original model.
