Competencies and objectives

 

Course context for academic year 2020-21

Fundamentals of Nursing is a compulsory course belonging to the Undergraduate Degree in Nursing offered by the Faculty of Health Sciences, comprising 12 ECTS credits distributed into two subjects of 6 credits each: Fundamentals of Nursing I and Fundamentals of Nursing II.

Fundamentals of Nursing I is a core subject taught in the second semester of the first academic year.

Fundamentals of Nursing II is a compulsory subject taught in the first semester of the second academic year.

This discipline constitutes a central axis in the theoretical and methodological foundations of nursing in the practicum and, in particular, in the following subject: Practicum IV: Fundamentals of Nursing and Adult Nursing I.

The main objective of Fundamentals of Nursing is to analyse, organise and systematise all the contents of this discipline to find its core principles and the basic differences between nursing and other branches of knowledge and professions. Besides, Fundamentals of Nursing is intended to set the epistemological and historical anthropological foundations for nursing research.

General Competences of the Degree Course (CG):>>Nursing sciences module

  • 15 : Identificar, integrar i relacionar el concepte de salut i les cures, des d'una perspectiva històrica, per a comprendre l'evolució de la cura d'infermeria.
  • 16 : Comprendre des d'una perspectiva ontològica i epistemològica l'evolució dels conceptes centrals que configuren la disciplina d'infermeria, així com els models teòrics més rellevants, aplicant la metodologia científica en el procés de curació i desenvolupant els plans de cures corresponents.
  • 17 : Aplicar el procés d'infermeria per a proporcionar i garantir el benestar, la qualitat i seguretat a les persones ateses.
  • 18 : Conèixer i aplicar els principis que sustenten les cures integrals d'infermeria.
  • 51 : Prestar cures, garantint el dret a la dignitat, privadesa, intimitat, confidencialitat i capacitat de decisió del pacient i família.
  • 52 : Individualitzar la cura considerant l'edat, el gènere, les diferències culturals, el grup ètnic, les creences i valors.
