Course context for academic year 2020-21
La asignatura Métodos en Biodiversidad es una asignatura formativa del módulo complementario de tipo Obligatoria que se imparte en el 3er curso (sexto semestre) del Grado de Biología. El objetivo fundamental de la asignatura es enseñar al alumno el manejo de herramientas básicas de estudio a distintos niveles de la biodiversidad, proporcionándole una visión general de las distintas aproximaciones, los conceptos básicos sobre diseño de muestreo y su aplicación en el estudio, gestión y uso de la biodiversidad.
Esta asignatura guarda relación con otras materias como la evolución, sistemática, ecología, biogeografía, ecología del paisaje y biología de la conservación. Esta asignatura resulta de gran interés en la formación de los futuros biólogos debido a su carácter aplicado constituyendo un componente crucial en la formación de profesionales capacitados en la gestión, conservación y uso sostenible de la diversidad biológica y que, en función de la especialización adquirida, puedan orientar sus actividades profesionales al mundo de la investigación sobre la diversidad biológica, a la gestión de especies y ecosistemas, la restauración del medio ambiente, el desarrollo rural sostenible o la cooperación al desarrollo compatible con la conservación de los recursos silvestres y cultivados.
