Course context for academic year 2015-16
En esta primera materia del programa se analizan los conceptos fundamentales sobre hidrogeología y sobre la regulación de aguas superficiales, y se introduce al alumno en la comprensión de todos los elementos que intervienen en el ciclo, como captación, almacenamiento, transporte, distribución, calidad y uso, contaminación, tratamiento, reutilización y evacuación. Se explica la metodología del balance de agua. Complementariamente se describen las causas y los efectos que puede provocar un cambio climático sobre el ciclo natural del agua. El alumno realiza salidas a campo para visualizar y comprender elementos como captaciones subterráneas, almacenamientos superficiales y sistemas de distribución.

- CG1 : Capacity to synthesis and analyse different sources of information critically.
- CG3 : Capacity to apply the knowledge acquired and understand complex, multidimensional problems. Ability to adapt to new situations.

- CG7 : Know how to obtain bibliographic and technical information and understand English terminology relating to the subjects.

Specific Competences (CE)
- CE1 : General understanding of the problem of water and its evolution. Understand all the technological elements involved in the integrated water exploitation cycle. Resource management concepts.
- CE17 : Ability to evaluate different management alternatives from an all-embracing, multidisciplinary approach and choose the most efficient in the framework of sustainable development.
- CE2 : Capacity to choose the best methodology for the exploration, acquisition and exploitation of both surface and underground water as a resource.
- CE3 : Understand the elements making up water balance. Apply the balance technique to any territory. Capacity to analyse and assess the final results of the availability of water resources.

- CB1 : Que los estudiantes sepan aplicar los conocimientos adquiridos y su capacidad de resolución de problemas en entornos nuevos o poco conocidos Máster Universitario en Gestión Sostenible y Tecnologías del Agua de la Universidad de Alicante Página 32 de 126 dentro de contextos más amplios (o multidisciplinares) relacionados con su área de estudio.
