Specific Competences (CE)

  • CE1 : Contribute towards the correct management of resource allocation in both the private and public context.
  • CE10 : Capacity to apply the knowledge and skills acquired to solve theoretical and applied economic problems.
  • CE2 : Identify and anticipate relevant economic problems relating to resource allocation in general, in both the private and public context.
  • CE4 : Evaluate the consequences of different options for action and select the best one according to the objectives set.

 

 

 

Learning outcomes (Training objectives)

- To understand the basics of financial theory.

- To provide students with the conceptual framework of the risk/reward ratio.

- To be able to assess portfolio management.

- To provide students the skills necessary to apply evaluation methods to stocks and bonds.

- To understand alternative risk quantification measures.

- Basic evaluation of derivatives.

After taking this course, students should be able to interpret listings from a range of financial markets, understand the basic concepts of risk and reward, diversify risks by means of carefully selecting portfolio assets, evaluate financial assets and know how to use a range of derivatives (futures, options, swaps, etc.) to cover financial risks.
