1. To provide students with an advanced specialist and multidisciplinary training, aimed at professional specialisation or research in the field of language assessment and literary culture in the Catalan language.
2. To equip students with general and specific skills which will enable them to apply their training to professional contexts related to their area of study.
3. To introduce students to the tools and knowledge necessary to develop their critical faculties and capacity for analysis and synthesis, in order to integrate knowledge and be able to reflect and decide on topics related to language assessment and literary culture, but also on topics of a social, scientific and ethical nature.
4. To equip students with the ability to transmit information, ideas and the conclusions of their observations or research clearly and unambiguously.
5. To introduce students to the tools and knowledge, and their applications, that will enable them to develop the skills necessary for independent learning and for professional practice or research in the field of language assessment and literary culture.

According to the Regulations of the University of Alicante, the following requirements must be complied to have access to official taught Master’s degrees:
- Non- recognised degree certificates shall require a technical report showing an equivalence statement issued by the University of Alicante (ContinUA – Continuing Education Centre), for which the corresponding fee should be paid.
- Access through this way does under no circumstances imply prior official approval of the holder’s degree certificate, nor its recognition for purposes other than studying a master's degree.
1.-Admission profile
The applicant profile considered suitable for admission to this Master’s Degree is as follows:
Applicants who wish to study this Master’s Degree will be required to provide evidence of level CI (or above) command of Catalan, both written and oral
Specific admission requirements:
Applicants who do not hold a degree in Catalan Language and Literature will be required to provide proof of a command of Catalan equivalent to level C1 or above (Diploma in Teaching in the Valencian language or Certificate of Proficiency in the Valencian language, issued by the Valencian Government, Intermediate Level Catalan, issued by the University of Valencia, Intermediate Level, issued by the Valencian Language Qualifications Board, or equivalent qualifications from other governmental or officially recognised academic organisations)
2. Assessment criteria
The Master’s Academic Committee will be responsible for implementing the student admission procedure and for resolving any issues arising from the selection process.
Given that this Master’s Degree primarily aimed at two different groups, two admission routes are offered:
Pre-enrolment applications should be accompanied by accreditation of professional practice, detailing length of service, or previous university qualification, together with a full academic record.
Following the pre-enrolment period, if demand exceeds the number of places available, applications will be subject to ranking in order of preference.
In this case, admission criteria will be weighted as follows:
CURRENT PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE 30% OF PLACES |
In each of these sub-groups, every five-year period of professional practice will be worth an additional 2 points. |
UNIVERSITY QUALIFICATION 70% OF PLACES |
Within each sub-group, applicants will be given preference according to grades obtained for academic achievement. |
Should places remain available within one of the groups, these places will be awarded to applicants excluded from the other group. In addition, 10% of places available in the university qualification group will be reserved for foreign students or exchange programmes, awarded on the basis of preference according to the criteria listed above. In this case, applicants will be required to provide proof of sufficient command of the two official languages of the Valencian Region. |

Students who intend to study for an officially recognised Master’s Degree at the UA should complete pre-enrolment in accordance with the guidelines and deadlines specified annually.

Following publication of the final list of those admitted to the course, an email containing a user password will be sent to successful applicants, enabling them to enrol via the Campus Virtual in accordance with the guidelines and deadlines specified annually.
In the registration process, the documents issued abroad must be official, duly notorised and translated. Further information:

Professional and research.
Advanced specialist training aimed at professional specialisation and/or introduction to research in the field of Catalan Language and Literature.
This Master’s Degree is aimed at training professionals (language technicians, translators, assessors, editors and proofreaders, literary critics, etc.) in the field of the language and culture industries and in particular, in the field of publishing, permitting the dissemination of foreign literary works and the publication of materials aimed at language teaching in the target language.

The complete Master’s Degree course programme will be implemented in one phase. This does not imply that those students who wish to conclude their studies on the present Master’s course will be unable to do so: the necessary measures will be taken to guarantee teaching of the current Master’s Degree subjects.
2. Equivalence Recognition Procedures, where appropriate, between the current and the new course programme.
To facilitate the transition from the present Master’s Degree course to the new course programme, information sessions have been held the 2009-2010 enrolment period, to assist students with guidance as regards enrolment and enable them to transfer with ease to the new course programme.
Credits which have been successfully completed on the present course programme will be given equivalence on the new Master’s Degree course according to the credit equivalence table shown below:
