  • CE1:Knowing the main problems linked to fisheries management and the use of living marine resources.
  • CE2:Knowing how to characterise the different marine ecosystems exploited and determine the impact of environmental variability on them.
  • CE3:Identifying the main taxonomic groups susceptible to exploitation, and knowing how to determine their abundance, distribution and reproduction patterns.
  • CE4:Characterising the different types of fisheries and exploitation systems.
  • CE5:Knowing the scientific and technical bases on which aquaculture production is based, and becoming familiar with the different production systems and applicable techniques, with special attention to the aspects concerning the integration of aquaculture in global coastal management.
  • CE6:Understanding the bases of the technical and commercial management of aquaculture companies that allow the profitability of production activities, risk management and market positioning.
  • CE7:Understanding the theoretical and applied bases of fishing ecology and population dynamics.
  • CE8:Acquiring experience in the application of models and indicators for the evaluation of fishing stocks that allow for the improvement of the advice necessary for more efficient management.
  • CE9:Being aware of the need to develop stock assessment approaches for multi-species and multi-gear fisheries.
  • CE10:Knowing the basic and applied concepts of economics related to fishing activity and the main production factors that must be considered in an economic analysis.
  • CE11:Knowing how to evaluate the exploitation capacity of the different means of fishing, differentiating techniques, structural costs, investment incentives and measures of effort.
  • CE12:Mastering the different types of vessels and fishing gear, and becoming familiar with new fishing technologies that seek to improve selectivity or reduce environmental impact, in order to contribute to achieving sustainable management objectives that benefit the sector and fishing stocks.
  • CE13:Understanding seafood markets with special emphasis on the European and Mediterranean markets, their main patterns of variation and regulation at international and national level.
  • CE14:Knowing the distribution chain of products, and mastering the concepts, components and phases of marketing and its specific application to seafood products, knowing how to establish strategies that allow an optimal use of the resources of the company or fishing communities to increase profits and obtain market advantages.
  • CE15:Studying in depth those strategies that represent an added value for the product, especially those related to the processing industry, its needs and trends, delving into aspects related to the quality of the products.
  • CE16:Being able to propose reasoned and reasonable management strategies and knowing how to assess the advantages and disadvantages of different management strategies.
  • CE17:Developing the ability to use simulation models to improve the scientific advice needed to optimise management.
  • CE18:Acquiring experience in the use of the Bemmfish bioeconomic simulation model to evaluate the effect of different management actions on the fishing system and enabling managers to assess the biological and economic consequences of the application of different policies.
  • CE19:Knowing how to determine and use a wide range of biological and economic indicators and reference points as tools for fleet assessment and fisheries management support.
  • CE20:Learning to develop research projects according to particular issues, either technical or institutional.
  • CE21:Becoming aware of the importance of applying a multidisciplinary approach in fisheries research and knowing the objectives of international cooperation in the Mediterranean area.
  • CE22:Knowing the types, function and working mechanisms of fisheries management and research institutions from the local to the international level.
  • CE23:Being aware of the importance of fisheries statistics programmes within management plans, and understand the links that exist between the planning of management policies and strategies and the data necessary to provide answers.
  • CE24:Knowing the basic statistical principles relevant to the analysis of fisheries data, and becoming familiar with the operation of computer software useful in such analysis.
  • CE25:Examining the different types of data, the methods for their collection and the theoretical elements of the design and application of fisheries statistical systems.

  • CE30:Becoming familiar with the socio-political context of fishing through knowledge of the different types of fishermen's organisations and associations, and the social analysis of fishing activities.
  • CE31:Knowing how to encourage the participation of the sector and other stakeholders in the definition of policies and management strategies, knowing how to explain long-term effects to the parties involved in short-term measures, and developing the ability to negotiate solutions that contribute to sustainability with actors with conflicting interests.
  • CE32:Knowing the current objectives of fishing and acquiring an ethical commitment to the sustainability of resources and fishing communities, promoting the sustainable development of fishing activity and the application of the precautionary principle for the conservation of aquatic resources and the minimisation of the impact on marine ecosystems.
  • CE33:Analysing conservation measures, especially the protection of areas for the recovery of threatened stocks, economic and structural measures and market regulations that guarantee the sustainability of fishing activity, efficiency and competitiveness of fleets, modernisation of the sector, support to workers and satisfaction of consumers' interests.
  • CE34:Analysing, by means of case studies, national fisheries management systems in the Mediterranean, as well as the objectives, policies and instruments applied, focusing on the historical and developmental peculiarities that have led to their evolution and their current structure.
  • CE35:Acquiring practical experience in the analysis of conflicts in the fisheries sector and in the design of action plans to manage them.
  • CE36:Knowing the competences of various management and research institutions belonging to the Spanish national and regional administrations related to the fisheries sector and contacting private institutions in the fisheries sector.

  • CE38:Knowing how to plan work in order to best achieve the objectives set and optimise time.

IMPORTANTE

El Máster se imparte a tiempo completo en dos años académicos [120 créditos, de acuerdo al Sistema Europeo de Transferencia de Créditos (ECTS)]. El Máster desarrolla una edición nueva cada dos años, organizándose la 8ª edición de octubre 2019 a junio 2021 y la 9ª edición de octubre 2021 a junio 2023.


REQUISITOS DE ACCESO

 

Según la Normativa de la Universidad de Alicante, para acceder a las enseñanzas oficiales de Máster Universitario será necesario:

  1. Estar  en posesión de un TÍTULO UNIVERSITARIO OFICIAL ESPAÑOL u otro expedido por una institución de educación superior del EEES (Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior) que facultan en el país expedidor del título para el acceso a enseñanzas de Máster.
  2. Estar en posesión de un TÍTULO DE EDUCACIÓN SUPERIOR EXTRANJERO que haya sido HOMOLOGADO al título que permite acceder a los estudios solicitados.
  3. Estar en posesión de un TÍTULO UNIVERSITARIO obtenido en una Universidad o Centro de Enseñanza Superior de PAÍSES AJENOS AL EEES, sin necesidad de la homologación previa de sus estudios. En este supuesto hay que tener en cuenta:

  • El Título no homologado requiere un informe técnico de  equivalencia expedido por  la Universidad de Alicante (ContinUA - Centro de Formación Continua), por el que se deberá abonar la tasa correspondiente.
  • El acceso por esta vía no implicará, en ningún caso, la homologación del título previo de que esté en posesión el/la interesado/a, ni su reconocimiento a otros efectos que el de cursar las enseñanzas de máster universitario.

 

ADMISIÓN Y CRITERIOS DE VALORACIÓN

 

Los estudiantes que cumplan estos requisitos, serán admitidos en el máster conforme a los siguientes requisitos de admisión específicos y criterios de valoración de méritos: 

Requisitos de admisión específicos:

Haber cursado estudios previos de grado en titulaciones de enseñanzas técnicas o experimentales relacionadas con los objetivos del Máster; entre ellas: Biología, Ciencias del Mar, Economía, Administración y Dirección de Empresas, Derecho, o Ingenierías Agrónomas o Pesqueras. En el caso de alumnos extranjeros estos deberán estar en posesión de un título oficial homologable a alguna de las titulaciones anteriores, o acreditar un nivel de formación equivalente a los títulos españoles indicados anteriormente.

Es necesario asimismo que los estudiantes demuestren un conocimiento de inglés de nivel A2, que garantice que éstos pueden seguir las clases teóricas. 

Criterios de valoración de méritos:

1º Haber obtenido una beca internacional del CIHEAM para el estudio del máster
2º Para el resto de plazas el expediente académico 

Estudiantes con necesidades educativas especiales

 En las condiciones para el acceso a las enseñanzas universitarias oficiales se reservará un 5 por 100 de las plazas disponibles para estudiantes que tengan reconocido un grado de discapacidad igual o superior al 33 por 100, así como para aquellos estudiantes con    necesidades educativa especiales permanentes asociadas a circunstancias personales de discapacidad, que durante su escolarización anterior hayan precisado de recursos y apoyos para su plena normalización educativa.

El alumno interesado en cursar un Máster Oficial en la UA, deberá realizar una preinscripción en los plazos y condiciones que se establezcan anualmente.

Tras la publicación de las listas definitivas de admitidos se enviará por correo electrónico a los alumnos admitidos una contraseña que servirá de identificación de usuario para poder matricularse a través de Campus Virtual en los plazos y condiciones que se establezcan anualmente.
