To provide advisory and consultancy services in collaboration with various entities and social stakeholders.
To undertake legal research studies aimed at guiding the resolution of real-world cases concerning civil liability and damages, as well as other thematic areas addressed by members of the research team.
To organize dissemination activities, such as conferences, aimed at strengthening and promoting awareness of the subjects covered by the research group.

Results

This constitutes a competitive research group recognized by the University of Alicante since 2005. It currently consists of 12 members, including 3 full professors, 2 associate professors accredited as full professors, and a predoctoral researcher. Regarding its research activities conducted to date, notable contributions include, among others, 87 projects and research contracts, as well as participation in 26 R&D Committees. Among these, two "Prometeo Excellence Projects" stand out, alongside involvement in the ENIA-UA Chair dedicated to artificial intelligence, ethics, and responsible innovation. Under the auspices of this Chair, collaboration agreements have been formalized with technology companies such as Avamed Synergy, One Million Bot, Stratebi Business Solutions, Balearia Eurolineas Marítimas, Bumerania, and Lucentia Lab. In turn, the Director of the Research Group is responsible for the pioneering knowledge transfer project at the University of Alicante, signed with the Alcoy City Council: “Regulatory Sandbox with AI Applications and Healthcare Logistics Using Drones,” which stems from one of the research lines developed within the group. Additionally, she has served as section leader for the White Paper “UAS Automation” published by the Aerospace Technology Platform, and as coordinator of the working group that drafted the AEDAE Annex for the White Paper “Vertiports” produced by the SIAM (Spanish Innovative Air Mobility) cluster.

The Group has published 148 papers in scientific and electronic journals, 165 book chapters, and authored 20 books. Regarding dissemination activities and conferences, the group has organized a total of 412 events and completed 19 mobility placements outside Spain. Given these achievements, the research group has consistently been awarded significant financial support under the Research Promotion and Knowledge Transfer Program of the University of Alicante, due to its outstanding research productivity index.

In terms of awards and scientific recognitions, particularly noteworthy are those received by the group's director, attributable to her specialization in artificial intelligence and advanced air mobility, granted by entities such as ICAM, Fundeun, eVTOL Insights Publishing, and Diario Información. Furthermore, several group members have been recipients of the Extraordinary Doctoral Award, namely Professors López Sánchez, López Mas, Guilabert Vidal, and Moreno Martínez. Additionally, Professor Moreno Martínez has been awarded the Honorary Plaque by the Spanish College of Registrars for his contributions to Mortgage Law and has been recognized as an honorary member of the Società Italiana Studiosi di Diritto Civile (SISDIC). This full professor has also directed or co-directed various doctoral theses conducted by the members of the research group, many of which have yielded pioneering studies in the legal field, subsequently published by prestigious academic publishers.

Available relevant infrastructure

The Department of Civil Law maintains, among its facilities, a law library administered with its own independent holdings and equipped with several computer terminals available to faculty and staff for consultation purposes. The library provides access to a range of specialised legal databases.

Of particular note is the room housing the legacy collection of the renowned jurist Manuel Albaladejo (3,466 publications); two independent and specifically designated areas devoted to the fields of tort law (254 volumes) and digital law (1,041 volumes). The department holds subscriptions to nine academic journals, both national and international in scope, including specialized publications in tort law such as Responsabilidad Civil y Seguro and the French journal Responsabilité Civile et Prévoyance.
